Needle Felt Mouse
Instructor: Fay Hodson
Date: November 2, 2025
Time: 10-3pm
Whether you are new to needle felting or have some experience and want to learn more, this workshop is designed for you. Needle-felting is a fun and quick-to-learn craft. You can successfully produce charming creatures regardless of your level of experience but watch out, it is addictive and you will want to keep learning more!
We’ll start with working on a simple mouse design which uses a soft sculpting technique and adding needle and wet felted embellishments. If time allows, we can start working on a second creature and experiment with other techniques and embellishments. I’ll bring lots of examples for ideas and am happy to explain techniques for you to experiment with in the class or on your own.
We’ll be discussing:
the needles and how they work - how you can use them effectively and efficiently (and, most importantly how not to poke yourself or break the needle);
sculpting techniques such as soft sculpting to create contoured surfaces and hard rolling forms to make your efforts more efficient;
embellishing the surface and attaching small objects to add character.
Instructor will provide the wool, 3 needles and a foam block per person
